Rosalia Palazzalo was born on January 9th, 1921 in Chicago to Rosalia Biundo and Ciro Palazzalo.
As granddaughter of Salvatore Biundo (Giuseppe Biundo’s brother), she was Joe Biundo’s first cousin.
She married Antonino Tocco and they lived in California.
There is a ship passenger record from December 31st, 1946. Rosa Palazzalo in Tocco (age 25) was arriving with her husband (Antonino Tocco, age 32) and a child (Angelina Tocco, age 3).
Though Rosa had been born in Chicago in 1921 (and the passenger record confirms that), I think her parents (Rosalia Biundo and Ciro Palazzalo) had returned to Sicily in or around 1924. So, according to the record, Rosa had been living in Sicily with her husband in Terrassini, which is where he was from. (Terrassini is right next to Cinisi where Rosa’s mother, Rosalia Biundo, was born. Both are right outside of Palermo.)
The record states that their final destination for that voyage was New York, and they were going to stay with Antonino Tocco’s uncle, Francesco de Luca, in Ludlow, New York.

I don’t know when they moved to California, but they had been living there a while at the time of her death.
Rosalia died on January 31st, 2009 and is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Covina Hills) in Covina, Los Angeles County, California.

I’ll add more information on them if I come across any.
I was wondering if this might be the Lia or Leah (from Rosalia was sometimes a nickname) who contacted some family some years ago? She lived in California as did this Rosalia.
